Honestly, I gotta say this pretty good, not exaggerating or downgrading it. It was okay. —Firstly, mc is neither good nor evil. He can be both if there's benefits at hand. — Introduction of arcs! There are some arcs where the author waste time and chapters building characters and events that is not even necessary for the mc. He's stronger than them, so why bother? They were not even side characters. Just strangers. —Characters are move when benefits is given, so expect the worst. He have people he gives goodwill of course, same with the concept "If they can't hurt, why make enemy?" He repays goodwill I'm good with that. —Open relationship in this novel is disgusting. This only prevail on lower levels tho, other than that it was tolerable. —Power scaling in this book is good, it made sense.
I was curious about this novel because so many people seem to love it. I usually finish even bad books just to understand them, but I regret even starting this one. The writing is terrible, maybe due to translation, but even then it feels awkward and hollow. The protagonist is supposedly a reincarnated scientist, but acts more like a cold-blooded sociopath pretending to pursue knowledge. Characters don’t drive the story—the author does. Women are objectified in shallow, uncomfortable ways, and any relationships lack depth. The world is full of selfish killers and offers no emotional core or meaningful connection. Characters are introduced and discarded with no consequence, and respect is constantly claimed instead of earned. Worst of all, the scenes involving age and intimacy their depiction are deeply questionable, handled without care or awareness. The novel glorifies power without reflection or growth. I’d give it 4/10—and I honestly don’t understand the hype.
IMO this story is Mid... and I don't just say it casually (read up to chp 667) Of course people who like evil protag might enjoy this more than others, but mc's morals aside, the plot is very repetitive (feels like those cultivation stories). The protagonist achieves a rank, someone slightly higher in rank pursues him, he escapes, gains some power-ups, defeats the person, and then repeats the process. Not to mention a spice of some nerfs here and there for some reason. And while this might be a common trait in stories with evil leads, it’s hard to ignore how flat most of the other recurring cast feels. Aside from a few rare exceptions (who usually disappear after a few chapters), the side characters lack real depth or development. That said, I plan to keep reading to the end so I can form a more complete opinion
Such a great and Enjoyable novel ruined by meaningless plot and author there was no need to add 12-13 years ago s*x twice bro.💔🥀 There waz no need to add this sh*t. I still can't get over this novel how good it was yet can't read it.(Sorry but i just can't seem to read a novel that has kid s*x) so close yet so far😔💔 (What makes a worse is that the second time he did it he was Mentally 500 years old)
After reading this. I recommend reading "Wizard World", the main inspiration for this Novel is literally from it. It would be respectful to check the original Novel.
my first novel. read it about 4 5 years ago, followed it with God of Slaughter then Everyone else is a returnee and solo levelling. F*ck just happening to chance upon this page is so f*ck*ng nostalgic
D*mn... Why didn't I see the Evil Protagonist tag, now I've gone too far to do anything about it
Friends, I have a question, will Leylin really love someone in the future or will all his relationships be just for pleasure? They also say that the ending of the novel is very bad. Is the ending bad or is it just a bit rushed? (classic problem in every novel). I would appreciate it if you answer without too many spoilers.
