Summary

On just another normal Monday, the world changed. The universe had reached a threshold humanity didn’t even know existed, and it was time to finally be integrated into the vast multiverse. A world where power is the only thing that one can truly rely on.

Jake, a seemingly average office worker, finds himself thrust into this new world. Into a tutorial filled with dangers and opportunities. In a world that should breed fear and concern, an environment that makes his fellow coworkers falter, Jake instead finds himself thriving.

Perhaps… Jake was born for this kind of world, to begin with.

Yes, it's very worth it. But keep in mind that this isn't lotm or SS, honestly, I haven't found novels that match these two in my personal taste. The story is based on an RPG world, there are classes, professions, monsters and so on. The MC isn't the only talented guy out there. We have several strong characters who can carry a PoV easily. And yes, they exist, we don't see everything from the protagonist's perspective. It has iconic characters, such as a certain trickster snake, an old alchemist who is nothing like a fool, a murderous bird possessing the arrogance of a young master, an extremely sarcastic gluttonous worm and a petty and vengeful God that no one dares to mess with. But not everything is rosy, keep in mind when you start reading that the author is extremely descriptive, seriously, there are entire chapters just about the MC fighting a single monster. I personally find it tiring, but nothing that harms the story as a whole. 8.5/10 for me.

I'm pretty sure you've read Shadow Slave already... But if not, it perfectly suit the description you've been searching.

Cultivation Online's main character, has a unique physique that allows him to consume monster and demon cores

Not that one, but the story where Monsters reign supreme and human almost went extinct, but to get stronger u would have to use these cores with ur self, and it’s kinda like a slots.

Maybe I'm just "too hard to please", but I'm really disappointed in the characterizations. Jake's "hunter" persona is too forced, Viper's quirkiness is too "mortal" for someone with his identity. I don't know. To me, it just comes off as the author desperately trying to make his characters more "relatable" with these sitcom-like dialogue/speech pattern. Like everything is just implied, but barely manifests it. Everyone else is just 2D stereotypical. And I'm really annoyed by the way they speak. It's too generic, as I said before, it heavily lacks individuality. The MC have the stereotypical MC vibe. Like, It's not doing it for me. And, I find it hard to connect with the characters. Like, I can't emphatize with them since I feel no palpable emotion from them. It's just isn't there (for me). I'm struggling to like this. It's okay for casual reading... but not worth investing. It's the "trying too hard to be relatable" for me. I don't know how else to describe it. That's it.
