The Desolate Era my first pure xianxia + wuxia novel that I have read. First I read this novel before corona but could not handle the emotional stress. But this October I have pick up again started from begining finish it. It was a good reading. Very intense with emotional roller coster. My recomendation is read this novel with some other light hearted novel.
4. 5 /5 ⭐I was depressed while reading this novel, so I completely isolated myself from the real world and immersed myself in the world of the novel. Although it had a lot of pros and cons, it was a good journey for me.
This novel has an impeccable power system and the world is really well built, but the story can be a little disappointing at times. The beginning is amazing, but there is a drop in quality towards the end. There are also a lot of good side characters which the author just completely forgets, which is kinda sad. I had to turn my brain off to actually read and enjoy this novel. It’s just a very newbie reader friendly cultivation novel, if you’ve read actual good books then you won’t like it, unless you turn your brain off and ignore all the lucky encounters and coincidences every 20 chapters and all the unnecessary tragedy. But the ending in my opinion was very satisfying, it was better than what I was expecting. Btw book 40-43 are just pure yapping by the author. It's just an average novel, which sadly is still one of the better cultivation novels, since there aren't many that are well written.
A great starter cultivation novel. Is very easy to read and the cultivation reasons are ready to understand as well. As for the MC, he has some character development but mostly it looks like he goes with the flow. Overall, a good read for people starting out
TBH I really liked the novel BUT. . . After Ji Ning got stumped by two b*tch*s yu wei and ninelotus I immediately quit this novel I enjoy twists but not the unreasonable and idiotic ones.
dropped at book 15. the MC loses most of his braincells. kinda sad how pathetic he is. after all that training he comes back to 1v10s. always on the back foot. always clueless. entirely unsatisfying plot with useless side characters with a weak yet ARROGANT mc. hes warned many times there is danger lurking. many celestials have died. his daofather master has warned him. and hes poking the hornets nest right away. for no reason. i was a big fan of this story but sh*tt*ng on the mc this hard after the training arc makes reading feel tedious and has me skipping paragraphs in hope mc can maybe get a win. please tell me if youve made it farther if this gets better ill give it another try. but all the chapters ive read in book 15 have let me down. also why so many reviews at chapter 17??
This was very enjoyable to read. I really liked the MC's personality and his intense devotion to his goals. It was such a journey watching him grow from his hometown in the boonies to the forefront of the universe. There were some parts that were a bit slow and I wish the ending was stretched out a bit more but overall, I am satisfied with the way the story went. Tomato-san cooked once again 👍🏽
I read this novel 2 years ago and at that time it was my favourite cultivation novel one of the classics mc is hardworking power levels are easy to understand there is romance but it's not that much mc Focuses on his goal in short good read definitely recommend
I started reading several years ago and this was the first novel I read and what made me start in the world of reading. I don't know if it's because it was the first novel I read and that makes my opinion biased, but I must say that for me it is the best reading I have ever done. Every time I think about this novel I only feel happiness. I felt like I accompanied the MC through each of his stages, from a mortal child to becoming the pinnacle of his verse. I recently re-read it because I wanted to re-experience my first read and I don't regret it. I recommend it 100% and I hope that other people who find themselves reading this novel enjoy it as much as I did.
Hahahaha, middle son was truly great, his story, absolutely splendid. Yes, yes, I completely agree that at times, it could be a drag but time and time again you'd realize that only after going through the bone-chillingly cold torment of boringly interesting chapters, shall you get to smell the fragrance of the plum blossom
Hope your doing better
