Summary

Fate had never been kind to Ji Ning. Wracked by illnesses and infirm his entire life on Earth, Ji Ning knew early on that he would die as a teenager. What he didn’t know was that there really was such a thing as life after death and that the multiverse was a far larger place than he thought.

A lucky twist of fate meant that Ji Ning was reborn into a world of Immortals and monsters, of Ki Refiners and powerful Fiendgods, a world where Dynasties lasted for millions of years. A world which is both greater… and yet also smaller… than he ever could imagine. He would have the opportunity to join them, and in this life, Ji Ning swore to himself, he would never let himself be weak again! The Era he was born into was a Desolate one, but Ji Ning would make it his era.

d*mn, it's not over, old man? Holy sh*t, I read it thinking "it's already over" and then I go and see it and it's not even halfway through. d*mn man, it's already past its peak, my interest had already started to wane when he was about to become a celestial, he was dragging it out too much, and then after all that they come to me with this sh*t about 12 palaces? d*mn, enough, old man.

From books 1 to 13 it was very good although it has a lot of plot structure, after this I feel that many scenes are forced, meaningless and the mc becomes silly

Its been 3 yrs. I wish the author already learned how to show and not just tell a story. I only saw few novels in this site knows hot to show. Mostly just tell, even those in top 10.

shadow slave is not as good an example as the rest. Personally for me i feel as thpugh all the other does is progress the story by doing a back and forth of praising one character and then doing the same to the opponent then praising the mc over and over again. Like he will talk about how cunning sunny is 5 times in a single chapter😭Goated book though

Took me some time to finish it and I tell you that this novel is good enough to be on my top 10 list.

Recommended this to me by ChatGPT, but it also mentioned that the MC is the heroic type who’d sacrifice himself for justice and that the plot armor is pretty thick. So, how heroic are we talking about, and just how thick is that plot armor? I want to know what to expect so I can read it in the right mood.

My main question is how do you get to the point of asking ChatGPT for recommendations????

So here’s the thing—I don’t really trust these websites to keep track of my reading progress, and I hate using “notes” to do it myself. So I started using ChatGPT to track every novel I’ve read, what chapter I’m on, and even save links to my last chapter and the wiki if I’m really into the novel. One day, after catching up on the new chapters of [Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor], I went to update my progress with ChatGPT. Then I asked it what a “Fiendgod” is because it popped up in the latest chapters. It gave me an explanation and recommended [The Desolate Era], since it has some “Fiendgod” elements. But ChatGPT also pointed out that I wouldn’t like it because the MC is more of a “heroic” type with “plot armor,” which I do not vibe with at all.

HOLY SH*T, Chatgpt can save your chapter reading progress?????????????? Mind blown. How'd you do it if you dont mind me asking

It’s actually really easy. Just say something like, “Hey ChatGPT, can you start recording my novel progress?” and once it confirms, you can tell it the titles and chapters you’re on, and it’ll keep track for you. Whenever you want to check, just ask, “Can you show me my novel progress?” and it’ll pull up everything you’ve saved. Also if you share your thoughts on the novels you’re reading, what you like/dislike or any other opinions it can use that info to recommend novels that matches your taste.

Thanks my guy, I gotta try this when I get a chance. I use ChatGPT for the basic stuff like asking homework questions but never for the deep level and unique cool stuff. My brain has exploded lol 💪🏾💪🏾 Edit: It worked!

Alright, I understand. Could you recommend some good cultivation novels with antihero/villain MC?

if youre looking for a villain, 'Reverend Insanity' does one of the best jobs on that, If you haven't read it yet.

I’m no expert on cultivation novels, but right now, I’m hooked on Er Gen’s work. Honestly, I think his novels are the best in the genre. “Outside of Time”, “Renegade Immortal”, and I “Shall Seal the Heavens” are easily some of the top novels I’ve ever read.

D*mn you rank renegade immortal over pursuit of the truth? 😔

        Reply
      • TammyNuel 1

Ngl.. I wonder why... Pursuit of Truth is peak tbh. But... Outside of time is like a culmination of Er Gen's past experience blended into his best work yet. Outside of time peaks at the end of each arc. When you think your mind has been blown enough, Er gen pulls up some other peak stuff.
