The Charm of Soul Pets (WN)

The world building of novel is good, and enjoyed the idea of exploring and gathering pets. However, this is a typical story of dumb mc that always has plot armor all the way. He literally just cries about his life and use it as an excuse to do something dangerous, and feels everything fine because he always just magically gets the thing he needs most every single time. The story literally just him walking around jumping into business that doesn't concern him and gets whatever things can boost his pets. The power scaling is not paced correctly, and some how no one else somehow works as hard as him. His team is literally just pay to win gacha game, where he just says I need 100 million buy this item to boost my pet and people that ahead in every arc somehow stagnate while he gets stronger.

It was a really good story and one of my favorites. The beginning has some problems with being too much like a game with the way the species are explained, but that is solved relatively early on in the novel. The fight scenes are really good from the start, and you can actually see how his fighting style changes through the story. The character and relationship developments are well-paced. We can see him turn into a homicidal maniac and later "mellow'' out. The MC's love interests are also well-made. It's not just "sexy ladies, " but important characters who play more part in the story than just s*x dolls. The only problem is the epiloge chapter. I would recommend not even reading it since it just ruined it for me and that chapter wasn't even intentionally planned to be released (at the end of the epilogue, the author explains the situation).

Prolly one of the best novels I read, it is really underrated and I’m surprised it only ranks 600 when before the reset it was up in the 100s

On my opinion, this novel is a good read. Although the harem is real, it is still good. Mc is hardworking and the build up of the storyline is worth mentioning.
