    I remember finishing this novel up a while ago and was wondering if anyone knows if there’s a sequel. After the harsh ending I was fuming. I personally dislike the ending. Although it’s unique in its own way. Haven’t seen someone deliberately express what seems like a sequel. If there is one, maybe my interest could return. But is there?

      not a sequel, but the authors other novel "lightning is the only way" is a prequel of sorts. its worth the read.

        so, I'd say yes, you absolutely should read lightning is the only way. As for the personality thing, without spoiling anything, ill say this, in the beginning of the novel, their personalities are similar, but they definitely split, and develop in different directions.

        probably, although, the fact that shang comes from earth, and the world in kts is stated to be earth just thousands of years in the future could be a tie in.

    solid read overall after finishing it, i now understand why the reviews are so chaotically spread across the spectrum of bad to good lol. it will absolutely depend on personal tastes; however, i think this most of this story is objectively well written, and thats coming from someone who's tastes don't align with some of the major themes lol if you need a story to have an ending that is happy and/or neatly wrapped up with no loose ends, then you may not LOVE the ending (but that also doesn't mean you will dislike it) i did not read LITOW first, and i don't think it matters at all, because "outside info" is only relevant in the last 1-2 chapters, and even without understanding specific details, you will not be "confused" by the ending lol - the context clues are self-explanatory.

        It's percy jackson and the olympians, a novel series by rick riordian. It is good to first time/new novel readers, it was my first... It's good read, binge read first 5 books... but wouldn't really say it's a good read for experienced readers.

        Gravis got avatar of death powers with little to no consequence and is traveling the multiverse just chilling. And Shang is all mega genocide mode and honestly will be pretty happy once it come out of the death zone surrounding his universe so it can destroy more of them

        《SPOILERS FOR: Lightning Is The Only Way, and Sword God 》 I don't think Shang got a good ending. Like, at all XD. He quite literally got a fate worse than death for him. His entire life is centered around being the strongest, reaching the peak, but... that's just not possible. He walks the path of death, and well... Gravis has already long completed that path. Shang cannot reach the peak, ever, for Gravis is already there. And i f*ck*ng love it! He's doomed to 2nd place 😂 (Sure there's always the possibility of more powers equal to and above Wills, but could Shang use them? Would Gravis let him? All things I hope the Author answers in later books lol.

        Been a while but is entropy death or a subsection of the idea of death because if so shang is cursed to second place but If it's own unique thing he might have a chance. All hypothetical tho

        I never finished Lightning Is The Only Way, but Shang had two endings- his Evil Self became an Abomination and went out to explore, but his Good Self was only trapped for a few million years before he ends up freed later (ends up in therapy lol)
