Chapter Lenght: 1700 - 2000 words but usually are even longer
Warning: The MC is not an hero nor an anti-hero. He is a broken, cynic and misanthropic person looking only for his own gain. If you are looking for a forgiving, nice, MC that goes around saving people in distress, this is not your cup of tea.

I wanted to start this novel, but it's convoluted mess of opinions. Some like it at the extreme and others hate it at the same extreme. I know it's because of one character that it's called kamilla I think. So then, I made my own research about that famous character, and in my surprise, she was hated because she is "normal" thus dragging down the mc and limiting his growth. I thought that she was hated because she was a Rachel like character. If it's only that, I can read the novel without any problems. However I want to be sure that mc isn't a simp. So please tell me your thoughts.

Considering this is one of the first light novels I started with I might be a bit biased, but I think it's definitely worth the investment of time. the MC's got a leg up on the competition of his own age range that's for sure, but especially later in the story when the world story kind of fleshes out more is when (in my opinion) Supreme Magus really shines. It takes an interesting perspective on magic mechanics, strength levels, and bloodlines as well as different intelligent species of the world. I personally don't think the character in your original question is dragging the MC down, bus a lot of power fantasy expecting people take talking and character growth as boring b*llsh*t and complain till the cows come home.

You're right, it's not everyone that enjoy slice of life moments. Well, I already started reading anyway. Not bad for now

in my opinion it is one of the best novel on this site web I started reading it 2years ago and still can't get enough of it. What I really like is following the low healing of the broken psyke of the MC and the character of Kamilia is a big part of it furthermore her family indirectly bring or repell a looming threat and is for me an undisposable character

Definitely not late novel shang but I'd say he's roughly around commander stage shang. Broken but can possibly still get better

Frankly speaking I never pick my novels based on openions and comments I read first 100 chapters and if I find it good I read it else I drop it. But this novel is a bit disturbing coz MC is like hyper-paranoid and doesn't truse anyone and creates a barrier arround himself coz of his past trauma and it keeps on going but story is real good if mr. author can remove that thing then it will be like having a blast

I don't do that either, however with 2900 chapters in the plate it's a huge investment and I don't want to waste it in something that is garbage. Thanks for the reply.

The more chapters the better in my opinion the longer they last. Read 100 chapters and check if it’s for you or not.

Can anyone give me another good western fantasy magic wn recommendation? I have tried a few Korean ones but Korean novels have a tendency to be soulless amalgamations of garbage tropes or sappy borderline erotica -looking at you Oak Tree- (and before you cry, I used tend for a reason I know there are some good ones, A Practical Guide To Evil comes to mind).

You should give "Warlock of the Magus World" or "Dimensional Descent" a read.

Probably the hardest novel to review for me, Supreme magus has some of the best and some of the most frustrating moments I have ever read. Let's start on the good side, amazing protagonist, decent world building, fabulous power system, good antagonists(except one) and a good plot. Supreme magus also has some of the best character works and death scenes. On the other hand is obviously the romance, personally I like romance and although I don't think it's necessary but a good romance is always welcomed, that said this novel has some of the most frustrating relationship situations I have ever read. The constant back and forth is really painful to read and you can't really ignore it because it's a big part of this novel. Some times it feels like the author is forcing a certain plot or situation to happen. To wrap it up supreme magus has high highs and lows lows but I think the highs outweigh the lows. 4.1/5

Just a heads up, that "(except one)" also just won't go away and seems to make other seemingly intelligent characters turn into uncharacteristically hypocritical, dishonest and stupid ones whenever they interact.

Hello guys! Its time for the monthly check-in on this cesspool of a novel. Has Lith made any progress? No. Has Kamila kicked the bucket yet? No sadly. Has any of the main characters learned how to not be so over-the-top emotional? Nope. Is this story still bad? Yes sir. See ya'll next month <3

he starts off okay and starts to get stronger. but not OP. His opponents are decent level and give him a hard time. I'd say the MCs growth isn't OP where he has bullet proof story

I have aomething else to add i think the reason why the story have so much unnecessary chapters is because of kamila the author needed a reason to put here and her future so alot things are unnecessary but if you take her out you will see

This was already explained as just a natural karma cycle of souls between planets (he just remains aware of the transitions because he is an abomination and they are corrupted by edge/bad karma to not forget or something) and Morgar being nice, gave him a second chance by putting him in a child as an abomination.
