Terrible translation and writing quality so if you actually read then its terrible
I read it till chapter 28 and I wondered why I didn't like it and then I realised it. If you take for an example if Shadow Slave was a movie, it would be an action romcom movie and this novel would be a documentary, the MC is decribed like in a history book, there is no soul in it only facts
I don’t understand why I keep coming back to this novel. Parts of it are just so slow and useless and his cultivation are just so slow but some parts of this novel are just so cool. Yesss I’m talking about you qinq tang and you senior brother zhang qianqmo and even you heavenly doctor and you too Inkdeath. Oh and I won’t forget about you he zenghao the good luck charm. If only this novel had less filler

The setting is amazing, it's a refreshing world that's based on cultivation seen in other murim novels dying out and being replaced with a new system. I'd compare it with Kill the Sun with how the world feels like it's far weaker then in ancient times. However the story feels too much like horizontal progression for my tastes. Vertical progression: Make an enemy, train to beat enemy, big battle with enemy, win and repeat.
So i have read up to the current mtl of this novel, its alright, pretty slow ,but that was expected, main two things to point out and criticize is the main characters personality and the plans that he says he will do are just forgotten and left while the mc hops around doing other stuff. An example of this is the whole guarding the derivation artifact subplot, it is forgotten for so long and by the time it shows up again the mc is too strong for it to matter. Li fan also has this fake caution attitude a lot, especially when he is approaching true immortal level about how he could fight them and all that and there are many scenarios he almost permanently dies because he got reckless and over his head and just says " How could this happen", " i prepared so much" when he should have learnt his lesson 100 chapters ago.
Just two chapters? To stack or not is the question.
Actually good and entertaining! Heavy emphasis on mystery and lore10/10 so far hope it gets a consistent translation tho this is the 3rd translator :(
