    Theory time i think to reach the 9th stage you have to become a specter and destroy a civilisation that's why there's 5 eternals and 5 destroyed civilisations the champion of the light might become the 6th and this civilisation will be the 6th destroyed civilisation maybe nick escapes the destruction because of null's power

    So does maw only put up shields to fight against each other or any rank of extractors? If it’s not just shields, what are the conditions to choose, has this been mentioned in the novel?

    I have to say, Nick's decision in the 320s is actually dumb as hell. The comments have pointed out a lot of it but I want to bring up another point. What is Nick's purpose? To save the Dregs of course. What does he do when he gets a wish? Well, kill someone because revenge(as if he hasn't killed thousands with the Crimson Sea), why would he try to save the Dregs and redeem himself? Does this get better or worse cuz this sh*t makes me not want to read it anymore

      For me the story keeps getting better, but it doesn't sound like you'd would enjoy continuing. Nick's goal goes from saving the dregs to helping humanity, in the process this makes him more ruthless against those who aren't directly beneficial to aegis/humanity and very idealistic. I guarantee a couple more events will highlight Nick's resolve with helping humanity considering the author. So come back anytime if you're open to dealing with this calculating, naive, idealistic, fool.

      It gets better. At least in the sense that the author calms down with chapter after chapter of trying to explain why nick is correct and everyone else is incorrect. I wouldn't say Nick really changes but he becomes more silent and the story gets back to world building and plot progression which is nice

      Let's just say the romance is like the gay characters in Harry Potter. Author says it exists, but there will be zero description of how or why. Just that it "does".

      What about fish? Or birds, birds are really hard to shoot down, specially if its an eagle, they fly real high. And what about the trees, if they are moving cause of air, do we cut them down too? If yes then i think we should just burn the entire forest, that will take care of both trees and animals and mosquitos, definitely mosquitos. What about the sun, how do we kill it, even if we blow it up, it will just turn into a white dwarf? My lord i have so many questions.

    great world building but i want to say one thing characters are sh*t , super super super dumb , doesn't even feel real . But still i will finish the novel because of its author and again sh*tty characters. could have easily easily easily reached in top 10 but alas sh*tty characters

      Do you think the DND stereotype is valid in reality? Do you think you can classify a person as "legal", "good", "neutral", "chaotic", "evil", etc.? . haha, that is a problem with psychological theories, "autism" "bipolar disorder" "narcissistic disorder" etc. They are childish, there is almost never someone who is 100% a single label. Normally a "patient" has the "symptoms" of several of these "conditions." And it is very difficult to place it in any one based on pure theory. It is almost always in the hands of the specialist to decide which one best suits the individual. The problem is that they try to categorize the brain as if they were mathematics, as if a human were an exact science. ha ha. In this book I have seen the best representation of a "person" to date. Because someone cannot be classified as "good or bad." The entire human psyche is a string of contradictions, you cannot say that someone is exclusively "legal" because that someone is both legal, evil, chaotic, neutral,etc

        Nope, I've read quite a bit. From web novels, considered low literature, to the most "serious" literature. Works such as The Stranger, The Steppenwolf, 100 Years of Solitude, 2666 etc. Or the little prince, which of those seems to me subjectively the best. I have also read some historical novels, although those are very dense, it is like The Eliad or In the Court of the Wolf, they are very dense and you need to know the context. Anyway, I say it from the heart. A character so "badly done", "arbitrary" and above all, "inconsistent". I think it's the best representation of a person I've seen in a work of fiction.

      Thanks for shattering my hopes, man. I wanted to read it a long time ago and now when I entered to do I came across your comment that completely destroyed my desire to read it because I hate novels and stories in which the characters are flat and brainless because they are a waste of time and because the most important part of any story is the characters

        It’s not that the mc is dumb ( he’s actually really smart especially in fights) … but it’s his mood swings. He’s a cold killer ones second, depressed the next second, happy without a care in the world next, then repeat. It’s so unnatural it’s like you’re dealing with a bi polar schizophrenic teenage girl that just lost her boyfriend.

        It's good if MC has psychological conflicts and human feelings What about the side characters, are they really stupid?

        Not really. Just the mc cries and complains too much for my liking ( or has crazy mood swings out of no where ) and is a hypocrite a lot of times. Other then that I don’t have any issues with the characters.

        I think you should at least read couple of chapters because it has great world building and about characters you can shut down 70% of your brain so you can enjoy it

        Unfortunately, I can't now. The thing I hate most about any story is that this story makes me stop my mind from thinking instead of turning it on, and I can't stand this kind of stupidity. Unfortunately the story looks like Shadow Slave, a wonderful world and a good plot with; very bad characters.

        No its not, it was so cliche, everything that happened in that novel was something that i had already read multiple times, its like a mismash of all other novels from same type.
