The royal bastard of House Vasquer, Argrave, has changed after his stay studying magic at the Tower of the Gray Owl. The sickly man’s awkward posture and cruel behavior have been replaced with a neat dignity and acerbic wit. His listless life has found a path of undeniable purpose. Most come away thinking he seems to know too many details about too much. Few can claim to know his motives or his goals.
Behind the scenes, though, the primary contributor for an open-world RPG’s wiki battles existential dread and things far beyond his ken as he struggles to adapt to a grim, gothic fantasy world that he had the misfortune to claim as his favorite game. This is his tale.
#####What to expect from this story#####
This piece is a high-fantasy style story, featuring many of the species and surroundings one might expect to find in such a world. The cultures are original and well-developed, with the primary setting being a European-style feudal society. Warfare, fell beasts, and natural disasters are commonplace in Berendar, and take the center of many plots. The protagonist is a smooth-talker, but the world does not exist for him; he must struggle to gain power.

Hey guys I stop read at chap 229 can you summarize me in this arc? I forgot
ok... it was ok. the plot twist and story beats were incredible. but it's clear that tword the end, the author realized that they had set up the bbeg to be too unbeatable. it feels like everything from the mind-god introduction and onwards was just one big scramble to gather as many Op items & abilities as possible, while the characters & their story arcs took the backseat. still though? a very interesting read. but not something you'd read more than once. 7 out of 10.
isn't this the novel where mc told his companion about his past selves? or about him being a college student from another world? i kinda stopped reading this after he told them.
It is finished btw
A rollercoaster, but alas I detached in the last few chapters; felt like reading about the weather. But, Agrave being Griffin's attempt at suicide was a hell of a plot twist
Give this story a try and you will not regret it. The slowest parts about this story is more enjoyable than 90% of the novels on this site, not to belittle other stories but Jackal Among Snakes is something else. The story starts slow with a guy that does not have much to his name, nothing but his memory of things that yet to happen, and he uses that to get what he needs to survive, he will gain many of the things in along the way, an empire, power, friends, family, and a character that you will love and respect. It is a difficult and a long road, but it trust me, it is worth going through, do not even think of a second that you might read few chapters and drop it, your time would not be wasted like that, you will read this story and enjoy it, and you might gain more than the time you lose reading this story. The Author has a new story called Disregard Fantasy, Acquire Currency (DFAC), the story is really good at chapter 27, but the chapters are behind a paywall at the moment.
Alright time to actually read series that's been rotting in my to-read list, starting with this.
Now that LotM's book 2 COI officially ended. This story has gotten considerably more traction of views, I'm proud to know this book will gain more recognition over time. Also, I haven't read this for a year. It ended? D*mn that's unexpected
