when i look at it back, actually for the recent chapters (i dont remember from what chapters but roughly from 600 onwards), i feel like the story lack the development of characters. I mean, the depth of one's characters and all. Tbh, i really hate it when the author try to make June shines in every way possible (no hate to the author), sometimes at the cost of making Eve (or Akira) jokes abt June in every little way possible. Ngl, i rlly love June but this aint it. The author should focus more to side characters, not making them exist just to make the protagonist shines brightly. Furthermore, i fcking hate it when Grandma's death just brushed off like that. Like, wdym the test paper got switched up by the supposedly hospital from Germany which Dr. Oh, the PRESIDENT of Seoul Hospital (?) trusts them to conduct test for June?? Like, it doesnt make sense at all! I get it the author wants June to 'appreciate' life and give Fu to someone's else, but this aint it bruh.

yeah, no biggie bro. all in all, i just hope the author will find its lost spark again and make up for its lack of characters development. No offense but i come to visit this story a lot whenever i tired of action thrilled novel tho

U r right... Latest arc focuses too much on his sister that the members of EVE are basically side characters now... It's not I don't like his sister but the author focused too much on making her idol... It doesn't make sense at all...His sister wasn't even interested in being an idol and now suddenly she wants to be one and he is giving her the system... Now the future will be like June and his sister will be soo famous in their respective groups and collaborate in many ads and songs and their group members will be cast aside again😑😑 I started this story for idol group members and their relationship, not some siblings using system to be soo popular in their group and outshine everybody...It's ridiculous at this point

idk whether it is just me, but i getting bored with the Laohu stuff and all. They literally give off the vibes of third rate villain and i got quite annoyed by the story by now. Ngl, this story got the potential but now, it feels bland

I really like this showbiz novel, it really shows off the tear jerking and impressive performance of concepts on stage. Emotional performances. Not just performances, relationships between trainees being mended through words of life that made it seem like alongside we're with in on the journey with mc through harsh times as a trainee till debut then a full fledged idol yet still came with troubles to pull through. Family. Became the cause and driven force with friends , fleshed out characters that are much given thought and backstory to which makes it us look into another perspective wether a trainee or fan and even family. I like it.

This is totally plagiarized story of Debut or Die! I mean is it really ok to do as a writer? For example, tower or Reincarnation or necromancer story are like "the authors copy back bone but they assemble the flesh, fat, blood, vein etc." so it is totally different person, but this author is like" took the same person, put different makeup, hair style, hair color, eye color and different outfit". But it is exact same person with different appearance!!! Isn't total plagiarizing? I read until ch 90+ so that I am sure what I am felling is not my imagination. Wow, this is totally exact story of Debut or Die. This isn't just similar, All the event, people and activities are totally plagiarized. Did this author get approval from original author of Debut or Die? Anyone know? I don't think I will continue after this if it is not. What a shame.

Totally agreed! I read this novel before "Debut or die." I felt that after June was selected as number 1. The story quality has dropped noticeably. So I dropped it. Then I went to read "Debut or die" manhwa. Wow! This was almost the same story. They just have different details, but overall are the same, especially the system. Debut or die was licensed after MC was selected as number 1. So I know it now. This author plagiarized the plot from "Debut or die." After the competition, he had to create the new plot by himself. That's why the story after that is really shiit. 😑

Continue the story bro. As the guy below said, there are huge differences between the two novels. And isn't the plot at the beginning similar for almost every genre's novels? After the novel's extra, many novels came up with such a start. Tapov is an example, but tapov still is good and there were so many differences spoted later.

Only until 90? I've read debut or die and it was amazing, I had the same vibes for this mc but when you actually read the story further you'll see HUGE differences. It's not the first novel with a blunt personality mc in these settings you know? So it's kinda normal if you sometimes get déjà vu. I don't recall Moondae being an actor, rapper, find his past life's family and I don't see June with a colleague list, shop, chat window and trait roulette with his system. This kind of developpement is sort of a classic one and a lot of novels starts this way. \(゚ー゚\)

I just wanted to write this comment for new readers honestly. You might come across of a lot of negative comments but the novel is seriously worth reading. When some say that the mc only concentrate himself on singing is not true since he actually develops dancing, acting, rapping, presence on stage, etc later. Most readers that have an attention laps of a bean don't take the time to read further the story as they assume it'ld go and for everyone's information: The author is new so they wanted to make each arc well explained and that's efficient since you can come across a certain detail in the early chapters and find their utility in the later chapters! To summarize it, don't read comments that can affect your opinion because you're the only one to decide if the story pleases you or not! :)

Caught up with the translation ch.602 the story is good. There is some interesting plots and there is a bit of growth with the mc's character. I like how the Mc is helpless sometimes and things don't go his way, how he can't just bend his boss to do whatever he wants and has to struggle for a single chance. 8/10 if you are into entertainment novels. SPOILER I don't like how the Mc exposes his true identity to an old gang member maybe his choice is correct and time will show.

I have the same opinion as yours but I think the author did that to make future events more logical. You know like some things happened like 30 or 40 chapters ago but they suddenly reappear later to cause some drama or bring solutions to them. Exemple: SPOILER (chapters between 604 and 611): The kiss that June received from Jenny (his cousin) got him in a scandal while endangering his place in the new drama he plays as Jian and you remember Haruto? Haruki's twin brother and Choi Joon Ho's bestfriend? He made a new appearance to help take down the issue via Haruki's navel account. So I think his identity reveal will be of huge help to take down Laohu and Lin Zhi especially since Laohu's actually suspecting June to have someone backing him up!

Read till 386 the book over all good but the MC look like pushover and it get repetitive and some times the mc look stupid with the way he act The novel has a lot potential but the author go downhill route I can't take it anymore

You've arrived at Minjun's bullies? You have the right to think that the mc is a pushover but the plot gets better after few chapters! The dramas are more logical and more threatening with June actually making his way to the top. Litte spoiler: We learn the dark secrets of Choi Joon Ho and we see that there are way more connections between him and Chen Jun Ho than what we thought at first. Like the fact he witnessed our mc's death!

I'm not trying to bash on the novel, I'm just genuinely wondering. What is the appeal? Because if its just "gap affection" where he acts like a thug at times but then came be charming and so I don't think this is for me

    Reply
    • Lolimancer 10

The 'thug' thing doesn't come into play often enough to matter. Just think of it as a "Debut or Die" clone, but imo better than the original. The plot, dialogue, main characters, side characters, character development, power system, fan interaction, etc. are all better than DoD. Someone saw that novel and said "I think I can do it better", and gave it their own spin.

Ummm I don't know how to explain it to you but June still has the same personality as when he was a thug except for the fact that he needs to show more expressions during performances or when acting. The same personality doesn't mean he's heartless but he's more nonchalent but when meeting his past enemies or past "friends", he becomes vengeful (with Lin Zhi and Laohu) and cold (with Bo When). If you have more questions, you can ask me! I've read until chapter 597 :)
