The first light novel I started to read years ago. And the first I dropped. But with the comments below I guess I dodged a bullet with it.

Just finished the novel and honestly the ending is so rushed I don't like it. There are quite a few plot holes in it which annoys me but I did enjoy the magic which I found was the only enjoyable part. So much face slapping it nearly made me stop reading but I pushed through. Overall, I'll give this novel a 5.4/10 I'm not sure if I would recommend it but it's better than some other novels.
